Hope

1 Cor 15:19 (NASB)

If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are all of people most to be pitied.

We use the word hope quite loosely. "I hope to get a job," "I hope I can find a girlfriend," or " I hope I graduate," and so on all sound pious but lack conviction. Biblical hope isn't wishful thinking or a pipe dream but a certainty.

The dreariness and mundaneness of life can wear out the best of us. Christ begins to look like a distant sugar daddy with no immediate relevance. Heaven begins to sound spiritual but unreal. The Bible becomes a collection of fables and stories. It's in times like these, when the Sun's hot and our throats are parched, that Christ whispers in our ears, "Today, you will be with Me in paradise."

Let us endure hardship as a discipline just as Moses endured because He saw God.

Have a good weekend, everybody.
