Joke about church elders

A church member aspiring to be a leader wanted to know the qualifications for being an elder. The Deacon replied, "One has to be a mature Christian, husband of but one wife, sober, not quarrelsome, respected by society...".

The parishioner replied, "That's wonderful. But why are you here"?
