David longed for water
For evangelism to be effective we need to let the Holy Spirit create an unquenchable thirst in a soul and then lead that person to Christ, the living water. More importantly, we have to pray that the Holy Spirit will keep creating that thirst for God in that soul that only He can quench. In Rev 2:4 the risen Christ rebuked the Ephesian church for having forgotten and forsaken their first love for Him. A man or woman in love think only of their loved one and life suddenly becomes colorful and rosy. We all know how joyful we were when we were first saved. We have to let the Holy Spirit fan that passion for Christ in us to become effective witnesses for Him.
