Romans 1:6 (NIV)

And you also are among those called to belong to Jesus Christ.

The first thing that we gentile Christians need to understand is that, along with the Hebrews, we also have been called to belong to the Lord Jesus Christ. That word "also" means that we were not chosen initially but have been inducted into the kingdom of God due to the rebellion of the Jews. The unfathomable mercy of God is that the salvation of God has been brought to us as well.
