Calm

Luke 8:24 (NIV)

All was calm.

As much as the Lord is an oasis of calm in this tumultuous word, we're supposed to be the source of that calm to a dying world. In this instance when the Lord rebuked the winds and waves to quiet them, He merely did what Adam failed to do. Adam and Eve were also given dominion over the entire planet (Genesis 1:28) but lost that gift due to sin and disobedience. God never intended for the world and the universe to be wild and chaotic. It was Adam's sin that made it so. It is our job as the sons and daughters of God to be a calming influence in this chaotic world and lead souls to Christ. For that to happen we have to walk by faith and in the power of the Holy Spirit.
