I AM WHO I AM.

God can not be defined, at least in human terms. He is Who He is. That's just the way it is. Moses's futile attempts to represent God in earthly terms backfired spectacularly. The Lord Jesus had an earthly Name. But God the Father does not have one. Instead, the Father of all life and creation names everyone and everything else. Moses's stupidity was that he thought he could define God. Instead, it was God Who defined Moses and his upcoming mission. Asking the Almighty for His ID is just as stupid as a son asking a father where he came from.
