Rest

Matthew 11:28 (Berean Study Bible)

I will give you rest.

God's rest is not laziness or idleness. This day and age the world understands "rest" to mean a lack of activity. The scriptures that people most often quote in support of this thinking is Genesis 2:2. However, Christ debunked that theory in John 5:17. To be at rest is to be one with God not necessarily ceasing from activity. In heaven, ministering to God and waiting upon Him will be our state of rest, and not idleness as most understand.
