Confidence

Hebrews 10:35: "So do not throw away your confidence. " (NIV)

John the Baptist had this confidence crisis. After heralding the coming of the Son of God by saying, "Behold! The Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world, "he sent his disciples while in prison to Christ to inquire if He was indeed the Christ. John had a confidence crisis. When a saint is going through such a confidence crisis, the Holy Spirit speaks these words, "Do not throw away your confidence." The Greek word for confidence in this world is "parrhesia," or free speech or spiritual backbone. Are you doubting your salvation or whether the Holy Spirit is speaking to you? Then regain your parrhesia by letting the Holy Spirit speak confidence into your soul.
