Colossians 1:16 (NASB)
All things were created through Him and for Him.
As Christians, we often mistakenly believe that God created the universe for our pleasure. However, the truth is that God created the universe as a gift exclusively for the pleasure and enjoyment of His Son, Jesus the Christ. God the Son, God the Father, and God the Holy Spirit were co-creators. The purpose of creation was not merely to demonstrate God's creativity but to give a love gift to His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. It can be likened to a birthday present or a gift that a father buys for his son, except in this case, the omnipotent God created the cosmos solely for His Son's pleasure, benefit, and enjoyment. We humans are incredibly fortunate to be allowed to partake in the creation intended for the Son. While God provides everything for our pleasure (1 Timothy 6:17), we should guard against becoming conceited and arrogant in thinking that the universe was created for our benefit. Instead, the universe was created exclusively as a love gift from the Father to His only begotten Son, Jesus the Messiah, the Son of God.
