Day of the Lord

Isaiah 13:9 (Berean Study Bible)

Behold, the day of the Lord is coming - cruel, with fury and burning anger.

The old adage that "what's good for the goose is good for the gander" isn't true regarding the Lord's judgment. The day of the Lord will sift the wheat from the chaff. Unrepentant, pharisees, religious yet ungodly people, doctrinal yet without the Holy Spirit, and many upright citizens may find themselves trembling on the day of the Lord, while penitent saints will be rejoicing. One man's terror will be another man's salvation on the day of the Lord.
