Fellowship

1 John 1:3 (NIV)

And our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.

God did not make us because He was lonely. Instead, the Lord created us to experience the eternal delight of fellowship with God. Even before creation, God the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit were in a perfect, loving, and harmonious fellowship with each other. Genesis 1:26 reads, "Let us....". The Hebrew word for us in Genesis 1:26 is ē'nu which is plural and not singular. God referred to the triune God-head of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit in a perfectly loving and harmonious fellowship. It was God's will and desire to create man and draw him into this perfectly loving relationship with Himself. As much as God created woman to help man and give him companionship, man's true fellowship is with the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. And that is not because God is lonely, but because God wanted man to experience the exquisite blessing of a perfect love harmony in the Trinity.
