Matthew 9:9 (NIV)

Follow Me.

Many are called, but a few are chosen.  In this particular instance, the Lord commanded the Apostle Matthew to follow Him.  It was not a request.  There was no choice.  The call of God comes with the power and compelling divine pressure that cannot be resisted.  In other cases, the Lord said, "If any man come after Me....".  Notice the difference in the verses.  In one case, it is an explicit order with no choice, and in the other, it is a personal decision.  The chosen ones, like Matthew and us, are given no choice.  But the general public are called but not compelled.  Blessed are we whom the Lord chooses. 🙂🙏
