Giving our all

Luke 1:31 (Berean Study Bible)

You are to give Him.

It's easy for us to comprehend that God gave His only begotten Son and all He had for us. But it's extremely difficult for our finite minds to comprehend that God also needs something from us. It's God's will and desire to dwell in our mortal bodies in the form of His Holy Spirit. We cannot understand why God became flesh unless we realize that our bodies are meant to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. God never intended to dwell in temples built of stone and cement but in our physical bodies. Since flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God one has to be cleansed and sanctified by Christ before the Holy Spirit can dwell in us and in our resurrected bodies eternally.
