Matthew 22:2 (NIV)
I am the God of Abraham.
When we introduce ourselves, it's customary to say, “I'm Bob” or “I'm Susie.” When God introduces Himself, He introduces Himself as the creator and Father of all humans. He also uses references that we may be familiar with. For example, when God spoke to Jacob, He introduced Himself as the God of Jacob's grandfather Abraham, and his father, Isaac ( Genesis 28: 13-15). Familiar introductions inspire confidence and faith.
How did God introduce Himself to you? I hope you heard Him say, “I am your Father and Father of Jesus of Nazareth, your Lord and Savior.”
