Pray for Ebrahim, sent into exile in a remote, potentially hostile area of Iran Ebrahim Firouzi has now been sent into exile for two years in a remote part of southern Iran known for its Islamist militant activity, hundreds of miles from his home. As Ebrahim is a Christian with a Muslim background, being exiled to this area close to the Pakistan border will expose him to ‘extended periods of danger and isolation’, sources say. His crime was sharing his Christian faith. Please pray for Ebrahim as he begins a challenging new chapter of his life. Ebrahim has reportedly found a home in ‘a remote desert town out in the middle of nowhere’ and is now looking for work. He was freed from prison in Karaj on October 26 and arrived in southern Iran on Tuesday last week, after a few days’ leave. In all, he has spent more than six years in jail since 2011. After serving a one-year prison sentence for ‘propaganda against the Islamic Republic’, he was retried in March 2015 on new, more serious charges, including ‘actions against national security’, and was sentenced to a further five years. Pray that God will protect Ebrahim and fill him with His peace that transcends all understanding and every circumstance (Philippians 4:7). Ask God to overwhelm Ebrahim with His love and reassure him of His constant presence.Ask God to continue to use Ebrahim, by his character and example, to point people to Christ, even as exile is intended to thwart his ministry. Pastor Victor bet Tamraz, his wife Shamiram Issavi Khabizeh, and three others Christians – Amin Nader Afshari, Hadi Asgari and Kavian Fallah Mohammadi – had their appeal against prison sentences ranging from four months to 15 years adjourned yet again last week because the court was ‘too busy’. Heavenly Father, I pray for the speedy release of this saint and our sister's ministry. In Jesus's blessed and holy Name, I pray, Amen.
