Ministry
2 Timothy 4:5 (NIV)
Discharge all the duties of your ministry
We are not primarily tentmakers. Not every one of us is called to a pastoral or overseer ministry supported by the Church. Even the Apostle Paul was called to a non-traditional evangelical and apostolic ministry. While the Apostle Peter stayed in Jerusalem and shepherded the Church there, Paul traveled through Europe and established new Churches. The Apostle did not directly oversee those ministries but appointed Pastors like Timothy, Titus, and others to do that. But regardless of what ministry the Lord has assigned us, we must perform all those duties with due diligence and fear of the Lord. I am very careful not to let the tentmaking duties supersede my primary and eternal responsibility to the Lord, which is to preach His gospel. Other believers should do the same.
