Luke 16:14 (NLT)
The Pharisees, who dearly loved their money..
It is one thing to need money for survival and comfort, and it's another thing to seek money merely for the sake of money. This is particularly true of those who hoard cash. They are so distrustful of digital transactions, and sometimes rightly so, that they withdraw their entire pay and stash it at home. Eventually, they become addicted to it and start worshiping it. They like watching it every day, admiring it, dreaming of it, wanting to make it bigger, and building a better room to store more. They even skimp and starve to stash more and make the pile grow. Such people, like the Pharisees, have become lovers of money. Such people are willing to sacrifice their health, sleep, family, and all others to keep growing their pile of cash as they bow down and worship it. That is the trap we Christians should avoid.
