Shame

Zephaniah 3:5 (NASB)

Every morning, He brings His justice to light; He does not fail. But the criminal knows no shame.

We live in a society where shame does not exist in one's vocabulary. People can easily justify their actions. Homosexuality is defined as an alternate lifestyle, abortion is fiercely defended as reproductive rights, transgenderism is a choice, child gender alternation is gender affirming care, adultery is love, and prostitution ios recreation. Regardless of how cleverly and carefully these sins may be characterized, God's wrath upon those who indulge in such sins and, worse, legalize and bless them is being poured out every day. Our God is not just a God who judges on the judgment day but is pouring out His wrath every morning. The just-concluded election in America is a classic case in point. Voters have soundly rejected the party and its leaders, who have espoused such despicable sins that are both unbiblical and un-American. We see some leaders openly sobbing and weeping while accepting their loss. One can only hope that those are tears of genuine sorrow and repentance. If such people have no shame today, they will undoubtedly be eternally ashamed on judgment day.
