Simplicity of salvation

Acts 16:30 (Berean Study Bible)

Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

Salvation is so simple that it's mind boggling. Men still feel that there is something that they have to do to merit God's favor. Such mindsets are not only prevalent in Eastern paganism but also in Western mythology. The more good that one does the closer they are to God. Like Christ taught us, unless we shed those merit-based ideas and become more like children we will never appreciate that salvation and faith are God's ideas nor receive them as gifts.
