Welcome

Matthew 10:14 (NIV)

If anyone will not welcome you.

When a saint is welcome at any home or town, Christ is welcome among them. A saint does not represent himself but his Master. If the servant is not welcome, then it is the Master who is being rejected. When the Israelites demanded a king to rule over them, God reminded Samuel that it was Him and not Samuel whom the Israelites rejected (1 Samuel 8:7). When a saint is welcome, the Lord's blessing and peace are welcome. The Bible tells us many had entertained angels without even knowing when they welcome strangers (Hebrews 13:2). This doesn't mean that we welcome every stranger on the street, but that we should welcome those that are manifestly the servants of God as evident from their character or fruit of the Spirit (Matthew 7:16).
