Give

Matthew 4:9 (NIV)

All this will I give you.

What man can outgive God? Can we give to the Lord something that doesn't already belong to Him? When was the last time God needed someone to give Him something? When we tithe as a token of obedience and respect for God, we are merely giving the Lord back what He has already given us. The universe, not just the cattle on a thousand hills, belongs to God. As a Priest of the Most High God, I should be receiving tithes. But following the example of our brother, the great Apostle Paul, I still give to God's work because it is better to give than to receive.

But when God tells us that He Himself will give us all this, then we need to receive God's blessings and not just hoard them, but pass them on to build His kingdom. Amen.
