Walk

Luke 5:22 (NIV)

Get up and walk.

The paralytic had gotten used to his condition. His friends lowered him through the roof to have him healed. The Bible doesn't talk about it, but the friends probably wanted him healed more than the cripple himself. They were probably sick of caring for the guy's needs while he lay there helpless. Notice what the Lord Jesus said, "Get up and walk." He didn't say, I feel sorry for you. The Lord commanded him to get out of his condition and start walking. Sometimes, God has to shake us out of our laziness and apathy toward our condition, to move us on to higher ground.
