Mark 2:14 (Berean Study Bible)

Follow Me

God's call to follow Him may come to us at the most unexpected time and in the most unexpected places. In this instance, Levi, the tax collector, was summoned by God at work. There's something peculiar about God's call to discipleship. There's no destination, no plan, no strategy, and no apparent objective. In hindsight, we know that God's call to us is to be His representatives to the world (Mark 16:15). But the Apostles didn't know that. Imagine being called to follow by a total stranger. Even more miraculous is that Levi immediately left all He was doing to follow Christ. God's call to follow Him also comes with His empowerment.
