Remain in Him

John 15:4 (Study Bible)

Remain in Me, and I will remain in you.

Many Christians, sadly, have a wrong understanding that they can continue living any which way they want to and that God will still be with them, because He loves them. Although it's true that God loves them, God's abiding Presence will only stay with them if they continue to abide in Him. If we remain in the Lord and His words remain in us, then He'll remain in us. We have to practice being in God's Presence. Prayer is a good way to abide and commune with Him. If we stop communing with Him and His words have fallen on thorns and thistles, then He will not remain in us even if He is all around us.
