Revelation 2:20
I have this against you.
One can not be a minister of the gospel or a saint if the Lord has something against them. That particular sin has to be confessed and atoned for by the Lord Jesus Christ before a saint can be of any use to the Lord. Many claim to have found a new calling in life and claim to have become ministers of the gospel. However, a deeper look into their personal lives belies a lack of the fruit of the Holy Spirit. A movie star who just acted out a homosexual scene on camera and lauded the ungodly behavior of ancient empires is undoubtedly not a believer nor ready to be a minister.
A preacher is not merely baptized in water but in the Holy Spirit and with fire and power from above. The life and the power of the Lord Jesus Christ flowing through that truly born-again saint radiates like a holy fire and empowers him to preach the gospel with conviction and power. Mere desire or ambition does not enable one to be a minister of the gospel. Being baptized in the Holy Spirit and living a life of total surrender to Christ is the only way to salvation and ministry. No one who lives an immoral life nor who supports immortality, such as homosexuality, even if they don't indulge in it, is fit for service in the kingdom of God. It is their tolerance of immortality in the name of inclusivity that excludes them from the kingdom of God. That is what the Lord has against them.
