God's Sovereignty

Jeremiah 27:5 (NIV)

I give it to anyone I please.

God Almighty is sovereign and is not bound or obligated to do anything for anyone. We have to understand that salvation is God's idea and we're at His mercy. He doesn't owe us salvation and could have just as easily wiped us out as He did with the flood during Noah's time. That the Lord chose to be merciful to us and sent Christ to die on our behalf is His sovereign choice and not an obligation. People who reject Christ and the Holy Spirit don't realize that God is not doing them a favor, but giving them a undeserved opportunity. Let us all be truly thankful to the sovereign God who chose to be merciful to us.
