You are not the one to build Me a house.....

God rejected the bid by the man after His own heart, King David, to build Him a temple. David's achievements and exploits were tremendous. But none of them qualified him to build God a temple. God wanted a man of peace to build His temple. The true temple of the Lord is the Lord Jesus Himself and us, the body of Christ. The only qualification that matters to the Lord to build His temple and be in it is a personal relationship with Him in Christ.
