Luke 16:15 (NIV)
What people value highly is detestable in God's sight.
It's easy for us to think of things like wealth, success, popularity, fame and others which the world adores that God hates. But sometimes it's even more difficult to miss subtle things like our attachment to these things. We notice how the Lord promised blessings to His disciples after they left everything to follow Him. This tells us that blessings in themselves are not valuable, but that the One who gives us those blessings. The only thing that is truly valuable is our relationship with God the Father through Christ our Lord. Anything that flows from that relationship, including blessings, becomes truly valuable.
